Covid-19 Specific Documents

While all the documents required for admission in Canada have been the same for many years, there are some Covid-19 essentials as well.

  • If you are fully vaccinated, you must take the proof with you to Canada to show the Border Services Officer.
  • You need to obtain a Negative Covid-19 Molecular Test from a third country before continuing your journey to Canada.
  • You must submit your travel, destination and quarantine plan to ArriveCAN.

LOR

Whenever someone is looking to attain an academic qualification or trying to apply for a job at a prestigious organization, they generally need to submit one or more Letters of Recommendation (LOR) to help the assessment committee understand whether they are a suitable fit for the course or work profile. A LOR is usually written by a previous employer or a professor who knows the person well enough to become a referee and suggests the organization to shortlist the prospective candidate. Check out our blog on Letter of Recommendation for more details.

SOP

A Statement of Purpose can be referred to as an informative document, containing personal statements, and is essentially required as part of the admission procedure of study abroad programs. Also referred to as an application essay, it comprises of the basic details of a candidate along with their professional and personal interests, academic highlights as well as future aspirations. An SOP plays an integral role in the application process of a study abroad program as it provides the admission board with the key information about the candidate and why they want to study a particular course at their institution. It not only describes who you are as an individual but also gives an idea about your writing skills and proficiency in the English language. Check out our blog on SOP.

Academic Transcripts

Academic Transcripts can be issued by your current/previous academic institution to verify and acknowledge the courses you undertook and the marks you obtained in them. All Institutions generally follow a standard format for the transcript:

  • Name of the Issuing Academic Institution
  • Accreditation of the Academic Institution
  • Name of the Student
  • Roll Number/Identity of the Student
  • Name of the Degree obtained
  • List of Courses undertaken
  • Marks/grade obtained in all the courses
  • Total Aggregate of the Marks/Grade obtained

The document must be stamped and certified by the issuing authority. Depending upon the institution/university protocol, students have to make a formal request with the college administration for their academic transcriptions. To get the official transcript, you have to pay the set fees and produce the required documents to attain your official transcript. Colleges, generally, take up to 7 to 14 days or more to issue the document so make sure you apply for it on time. Some colleges may also need you to physically collect your transcripts from the administrative office. Check out our blog on Academic Transcripts.
