RRB Group D

RRB Group D exam is conducted by the Indian Railways for hiring employees. Railways are easily the largest employer in the country. Railway releases the notification for Group D positions every year. Group D positions comprise posts like cabin man, welder, gatekeeper etc. railway group D exam is conducted in 2 stages namely Computer Based Test and a Physical Efficiency Test. 

The written tests are relatively easy with a total of 100 questions comprising general English, Numerical Ability, General Intelligence, and General Awareness. The CBT is 90 minutes long with each question comprising one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

The starting salary of an RBB group D employee is around 18,000/-. RRB NTPC

RRB NTPC is another major exam conducted by railways for recruiting candidates. It has 4 stages of recruitment wherein the 1st and 2nd stage comprise a computer-based test. The 3rd stage is a skill test and the 4th stage includes document verification and medical check-up.

Stage 1 is a 90 minutes test comprising 100 questions related to numerical ability, general intelligence, general awareness. Stage 2 is a 90 minutes test with 120 questions related to numerical ability, general intelligence, general awareness.

SSC Multi Tasking Staff

SSC MTS is conducted by the staff selection commission; a premier establishment for hiring government employees. The basic eligibility for appearing in the exam is passing of SSC exams. The recruitment process is simple and consists of 2 stages, namely a computer-based test and a written test. CBT is a 100 mark test with questions related to general English, numerical ability, general intelligence, general awareness. The descriptive test is a 30-minute long exam consisting of letter writing an essay for 50 marks each.

SSC CHSL

Through this exam the staff selection commission recruits postal assistants, data entry operators, lower divisional clerks and other employees for various ministries of the Government of India. This is a higher secondary level exam and consists of three levels; a computer based exam, a written test and a skill test. The written test is an hour long consisting of 200 marks, each question consisting of 2 marks. Questions related to  general english, numerical ability, general intelligence and general awareness will be asked.

This exam consists of prelims, mains and a language efficiency test.  The  2 hours and 40 min long exam consists of 190 questions for 200 marks.

Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET)

Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), this exam helps recruit teachers. On appearing for this test, the score and certificate are valid for a period of 7 years. Candidates who’ve cleared this exam can apply for the post of a teacher in a central government school, Kendriya Vidyalayas. The exam mainly has 2 papers; Paper 1 for those who wish to teach from class 1 to class 5 and paper 2 for class 6 to class 8. Paper  1 is 150 minutes long comprising 150 marks. There are 150 questions pertaining to Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 is also 150 minutes long and comprises Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics or Social Sciences.
