RMIT University 2022 PhD Scholarship in Multilayered Safety Clothing for Personal Protective Equipment

The ARC funded project will create multifunctional fabric designs & engineering techniques integrating improved heat and flame protection, comfort and smart features into multilayered personal protective garments. Two doctoral scholarships are available for outstanding applicants to work on this multidisciplinary research project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). The three-year project will (1) study protective textile materials against fire, (2) identify and develop material solutions with specific characteristics using textile functional design, and (3) demonstrate practical solutions for enhanced protective clothing systems. The research will use RMIT’s new flame mannikin.
