Jagiellonian University

Having been established in 1364 and carrying the honour of being one of the oldest universities in Poland as well as across Europe, the Jagiellonian University earlier supported only faculties of Liberal Arts, Medicine and Law. Sporting a multicultural campus, it has been a centre for higher education, research and learning for not only the Polish community but also Dutch, Italians, French, English and Egyptians, Indians and central American communities. At present, it houses 41,661 students in close to 100 diverse areas of study offered through 16 specialised facilities, namely, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of International and Political Studies and Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science, among others. Jagiellonian University, in order to encourage information mobility, has entered into numerous international agreements including but not limited to Erasmus Exchange Programme, COIMBRA of which Trinity College Dublin, UK, KU Leuven, Belgium and University of Groningen, The Netherlands are members and the European University Association.

University of Warsaw

Belonging in the top 3% of universities worldwide, the University of Warsaw is said to be one of the largest universities in Poland with state-of-the-art facilities of research and three spread-out campuses. The university offers more than 100 traditional higher education programs along with 29 dual degree programs in its diverse 45,400-strong student community, out of which nearly 5,000 hail from foreign countries. It is part of prestigious international alliances such as the 4EU+ European University Alliance awarded by the European Union as well as of close to 100 research networks. In its library, Czesław Miłosz, the future Nobel Prize in Literature winner laureate, worked as a janitor during the 2nd world war.

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań

With a rich 400 years of history, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań borrows its name from the legendary Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz and is amongst the top 5 universities in Poland. In addition to three campuses in Poznan, it also comprises additional campuses in Kalisz, Gniezno, and Słubice. Located in the historic Greater Poland area, the university offers both English and Dutch-based study programmes through the Faculty of English, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences, among others. Its list of eminent alumni includes names such as Marie Curie, Nobel Prize winner and Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Różycki, all world war-era mathematicians.

Gdańsk University of Technology

The Gdańsk University of Technology is a fairly young higher education institution which has steadily climbed up the ladders to become one of the oldest technical universities in Poland. Erected after a donation from the Danzig Research Society, a scientific research organisation, the university now offers both Polish and English degree programs across levels including an exciting opportunity to pursue an MBA in Poland. Purdue University, USA, University of Glasgow, UK, University of Bremen, Germany and University of Bordeaux, France have also entered into alliances with the Gdańsk University of Technology.

AGH University of Science and Technology

Set up under the auspices of Jan Zarański, renowned engineer, the AGH University of Science and Technology now plays hosts to over 27,000 students in 62 branches of science who are catered to by 1845-strong teachers and faculty members.
