One Young World 2023 Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship

This year, AstraZeneca is going beyond Scholarships to power and deliver a unique YHP Impact Fellowship that provides development opportunities, access to networks, and funding to help the most impactful young health leaders to help them create even more positive change.   By collaborating with One Young World, these inspiring young leaders will attend the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast, UK and receive a US $10,000 grant to contribute to a specific project within their eligible non-profit organisation. This grant will assist in the development and delivery of effective health promotion programmes, with an emphasis on under-resourced and marginalised communities in low- and middle-income countries. We believe that access to networks, development, and funding will lead to a global health movement led by, and for, young people.   That’s why we’re creating a bespoke YHP Impact Fellowship which will enable selected young non-profit leaders to receive:   Access to Networks: Participation in the 2023 One Young World Summit and Ambassador Network, and access to an Alumni group of other young changemakers who are all passionate about NCD prevention  Access to Development: Structured learning and development offerings to enable you to scale your impact, including both self-directed and live learning. This includes access to the One Young World Academy, an award-winning MBA programme with a cUnviersity accreditation, and professional training.   Access to Funding: All Fellows will be expected to manage a community project that aims to improve youth health and prevent NCDs in their community. To enable this, AstraZeneca’s YHP will be awarding US $10,000 grants to each of the non-profit organisations led by the Fellows  This Fellowship is powered by and delivered in partnership with AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme (YHP). The YHP is a core part of AstraZeneca’s sustainability ambition to use its capabilities to make a meaningful impact where society needs it – health. The YHP is a global disease prevention programme with a unique focus on young people aged 10 to 24, living in vulnerable environments and under-resourced settings around the world. The YHP aims to prevent the most common non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, type II diabetes, heart disease and respiratory disease by addressing the primary risk factors - tobacco use, harmful use of alcohol, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet and exposure to air pollution.   YHP activities support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal Target 3.4 - to reduce premature deaths linked to NCDs by one third by 2030.
