  • In order to help firms find employees to fill skill shortage jobs, Australia creates the Temporary (subclass 408) Skill Shortage Visa. The visa application process might take up to 6 months and cost AUD 1,290.
  • A temporary subclass 500 visa, which is valid for up to 5 years but has some restrictions as well, has also been introduced in Australia along with the temporary subclass 408 visa.
  • After practising strict travel regulations and restrictions for two long years now, Australia has opened its international borders to unvaccinated students. International students are no longer required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for entry into Australia from 6 July.
