The GKT King’s College London Medicine has sites in three different institutions, including University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which also serve as teaching hospitals for the school. On August 1, 1998, the institution was renamed after a merger with the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.

The medical school has an annual intake of around 400 students for the conventional MBBS program, 50 students for the Extended Medical Degree Program (EMDP), 23 students for the Graduate/Professional Entry Programme (GPEP), and two students for the GPEP program for Maxillofacial (MaxFax) Entry. The number of people who apply varies from year to year. It receives more medical school applications than any other UK medical school, and applicants must take the University Clinical Aptitude Test as of 2016.

Medicine Maxfax Entry Program MBBS at GKT King’s College London

Another MBBS offered at the King’s College London Medicine is the Maxfax Medical School Admissions Program. The MBBS is a four-year medical degree created for qualified dentists who are registered with the UK General Dental Council and want to work in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Eligibility 

Applicants must be qualified dentists who desire to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery and are registered with the UK General Dental Council.

  • This curriculum does not necessitate the use of the UCAT.
  • Applicants are chosen for interviews based on their statements, previous experience, and qualifications.

The Extended Medical Degree Programme (EMDP) offered at the King’s College London Medicine is tailored to students pursuing A-levels or Access to Medicine at a non-selective state school or who are Realising Opportunities participants across England.
